I specialize in working with relationships (dating, premarital, married) to enhance awareness and skills to manage when feeling disconnected. Research has found that couples wait an average of six years of being unhappy before seeking solutions. Whether you have had a wound in your relationship or want to reconnect, I can help you now to explore, process, and heal. You will develop habits based on relationship science and neurobiology that increase healthy communication and connection. My approach is active and I will identify common pitfalls in relationships.
I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from La Salle University in Pennsylvania and have supported clients at a community center with parent coaching and supporting children in home/school, a mental health center with primarily adults and families, and a private practice focusing on couples. These experiences allowed me to support many clients through life transitions, self-soothing skill building, self-exploration, and frustrating conflict cycles. I have developed a passion for working with couples and individuals who want more possible for their relationship - who want to explore themselves, patterns, take control of their life, and cherish the relationship they have. As part of my associate licensure, I continue to meet for supervision and seek opportunities to expand my understanding and skills with my clients. (Credentials below)
As a therapist, I see my role as providing ease by identifying what to expect in the process, holding the space to show up as your whole self, listening with undivided attention, observing patterns in and outside the room, and navigating through conflict using researched skills and interventions.
When I meet with you, I am intentionally listening for the default dynamic in the relationship with yourself or your partner, identifying the underlying needs and fears that may be hidden from others, and seeking how to empower your choice and control over the patterns. I believe my clients are more than the parts they see and stronger than they know to take control of their life and relationships.
I will hold what you want and what you are working towards, even when we get lost. I will identify your current stuck points and possible outcomes of current patterns. We will highlight your strengths and find alternatives that can help bridge the current to what is possible.
It’s hard to know which therapist to choose, so I am happy to offer a free 15 minute phone consultation with you to identify if we would be a good fit, answer any questions you might have, or send you referrals that would be a better fit.
